We need to claim ..them...to Tarry for them...to Wait for .....we need to "PURSUE" God.... ( Hose6-3)

and when we do ...we dont like having to wait for the manifestation of the promises.....

WHY REVIVAL TARRIES ?

Chapter Twenty

KNOWN IN HELL

SOME preachers master their subjects; some subjects master the preacher; once in a while one meets a preacher who is both master of, and also mastered by his subject. The Apostle Paul, I am sure, was in that category.

Look at Paul in Corinth (Acts 19). Seven men were attempting to use a religious formula over a Gadara-type of victim. But slinging theological terms or even Bible verses at devil-possessed men is as ineffective as snowballing Gibraltar in the hope of removing it. One man, demon-controlled, was an easy match for these seven silly sycophants. While the seven sons of Sceva fled into the streets, shirtless and shamed, the man filled with an unholy spirit increased his wardrobe with seven suits. And so, the seven wounded, fearful men told their own tale, for God turned their folly to the glory of Christ, so that His name was greatly feared and magnified. Spooky spiritists were converted; Jews and Greeks were saved; at a public bonfire, cult books to the value of fifty thousand pieces were burned.

Surely that was making the wrath of man to praise Him! Listen, too, to the testimony of the demon, "Jesus I know, AND PAUL I KNOW, but who are ye?" (Acts 19:15).

This is the highest praise that earth or hell affords - to be classified by the enemy as one with Jesus.

But how did Paul get that way? Why did demons know Paul? Had they beaten him too, or had he beaten them? Consider for a moment this man Paul. God and Paul were on intimate terms.

Revelations were granted him. His servants were angels; at his finger tips were earthquakes. His Spirit-powered words shattered the fetters from the soul of a spirit-bound girl, whom men had snared as a fortuneteller. In Corinth, this mighty man Paul drained a part of the Slough of Despond, and there on the devil's doorstep established a church. Later, he snatched souls from under the nose of Caesar, right from Caesar's own household. And before kings Paul was at home, for he said, "I count myself happy King Agrippa!" Paul also stormed the intellectual capital of the world (Mars hill) with resurrection truth and thereby routed their learned. While Paul lived, hell had no peace.

But what was Paul's armory? Where did he edge his blade? Paul more than once uses the phrase "I am persuaded," and therein lay his secret. Revealed truth held him like a vise.

The Word, like the Lord, was immutable. Paul's anchor was cast in the depths of God's faithfulness. His battleaxe was the Word of the Lord; his strength was faith in that Word. So the Spirit alerted Paul to the coming strategy of the devil. Paul was not ignorant of his devices; therefore hell suffered. Even when men willed to assassinate Paul, an informer uncovered the plot, and men and demons were foiled.

Spirituality that saves men from hell and keeps men from vulgar sins is wonderful, but, I believe, elementary. When Paul went to the Cross, the miracle of conversion and regeneration took place; but later when he got on the Cross, the greater miracle of identification took place.

That I believe is the masterly argument of the Apostle - to be dead and alive at the same time. "Ye are dead," Paul wrote the Galatians. Suppose we try this on ourselves first. Are we dead? - dead to blame or praise? dead to fashion and human opinion? dead so that we have no itch for recognition? dead so that we do not squirm if another gets praised for a thing that we engineered? Oh sweet, sublime, satisfying experience of the indwelling Christ by the Spirit! We, too, can sing with Wesley:

Dead to the world and all its toys! Its idle pomp and fading joys! Jesus, my glory be!

Yes, Paul was dead. Then he added, "Nevertheless I live, yet not I." Christianity is the only religion in the world where a man's God comes and lives inside of him.

Paul no longer wrestled with flesh (neither his own nor any other man's); he wrestled "against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world."

Does that shed any light on why this demon said, "And Paul I know?" Paul had been wrestling against the demon powers. (In these modern days, this art of binding and loosing that Paul knew is almost forgotten or else ignored.) On the last lap of his earthly pilgrimage, he declared, "I have fought a good fight." Demons could have said amen to that statement, for they suffered more from Paul than Paul suffered from them. Yes, Paul was known in hell.

Another anchor that held this soul undaunted was the wrath of a holy God upon sin. "Knowing the terror of the Lord he persuaded men" (II Cor. 5:11). Paul accounted men as lost! The other night I saw a picture thrown onto a screen; but in its blurred state it had no meaning. Then the operator's hand reached out and focussed the slide. What a difference! Even so, we Christians need the Divine Hand to sharpen the picture of the lostness of men to our eternity-dimmed eyes. Because Paul loved His Lord with a perfect love, he also hated sin with a perfect hatred. Thus he saw men not only prodigals but also rebels - not just drifters from righteousness but conspirators in wickedness, who must be pardoned or punished. With the fierceness of Love's intensest blaze, he burned at the injustice of men subordinate to demon power. His watchword was "This one thing I do."

He had no side issues, no books to sell. He had no ambitions - and so had nothing to be jealous about. He had no reputation - and so had nothing to fight about. He had no possessions - and therefore nothing to worry about. He had no "rights" - so therefore he could not suffer wrong. He was already broken - so no one could break him. He was "dead" - so none could kill him. He was less than the least - so who could humble him? He had suffered the loss of all things - so none could defraud him. Does this throw any light on why the demon said, "Paul I know?" Over this God-intoxicated man, hell suffered headaches.

Yet another anchor to the spirit of this saint was the efficacy of the blood of Jesus, and so the ability of Christ to save fully. "ALL have sinned and come short of the glory of God." Yes! But Christ is able to save to the uttermost ALL who come unto God by Him. Oh that the world might know the all-atoning Lamb!

With Paul there was no limited atonement. Zealot he was and wanted to be. In the light of an eternal hell what were perishing things of clay? And in our present day what are honors among men? or what are the schemes of hell? Right now men are LOST, as well as after they die. Right now men are being swept into the vortex of a sewer of gross iniquity which ultimately will suck them down to an ETERNAL HELL. Is this true? Paul was convinced that it was. Then, "oh arm of the Lord, awake; put on strength" (Isa. 51:9). "Make me Thy battleaxe and Thy weapons of war," I hear Paul say.

Another anchor for Paul was the blessed assurance that "to be absent from the body was to be present with the Lord" (II Cor. 5:8). No soul-sleep here! No interminable intermediate state! Out of life into life! At the thought of eternity, language is beggered and imagination staggered. Paul could "write off" stripes, imprisonments, fastings, weariness, and painfulness as "light affliction" - recompensed by the fact "so shall we ever be with the Lord." All the "shot and shell" of demons was wasted against Paul. Do you wonder now that one of them said, "And Paul I know?"

The final truth as an anchor to Paul's soul was "WE MUST ALL APPEAR before the judgment seat of Christ" (II Cor. 5:10). Living with eternity's values in view took the sting out of this oncoming test too. Living "right," here on earth (I do not mean just living righteously, but living after the pattern set in the Holy Word) takes care of the hereafter. Paul was so conformed to the image of the Son that he could say, "What things ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do" (Phil. 4:9). To copy copies is not normally safe, but it is safe to copy Paul, for he was fully surrendered, wholly sanctified, completely satisfied, yea, "complete in Christ."

Do you still wonder why a demon said, "And Paul I know?" I don't.

GOD IS IN CONTROL.....

Here is a real story -

After Sept. 11th, one company invited the remaining members of other companies who had been decimated by the attack on the Twin Towers to share their available office space.

At a morning meeting, the head of security told stories of why these people were alive... and all the stories were just:

the 'L I T T L E' things.

  • As you might know, the head of the company survived that day because his son started kindergarten.
  • Another fellow was alive because it was his turn to bring donuts.
  • One woman was late because her alarm clock didn't go off in time.
  • One was late because of being stuck on the NJ Turnpike due to an auto accident.
  • One of them missed his bus.
  • One spilled food on her clothes and had to take time to change.
  • One's car wouldn't start.
  • One went back to answer the telephone.
  • One had a child that dawdled and didn't get ready as soon as he should have.
  • One couldn't get a taxi.
  • The one that struck me was the man who put on a new pair of shoes that morning, took the various means to get to work but before he got there, he developed a blister on his foot.He stopped at a drugstore to buy a Band-Aid.That is why he is alive today.

Now when I am 1. stuck in traffic, 2. miss an elevator, 3. turn back to answer a ringing telephone... all the little things that annoy me.

I think to myself, this is exactly where God wants me to be at this very moment...............

Next time your morning seems to be going wrong, the children are slow getting dressed, you can't seem to find the car keys, you hit every traffic light, don't get mad or frustrated;

God is at work watching over you.

May God continue to bless you with all those annoying little things and may you remember their possible purpose.

I had BIG PLANS for today.....
I was looking forward to spend a very peaceful saturday just having a chat with my GOD....
WELL DONT ASK ME WHY ...it went all wrong.....
My great plans fell through..completely

at one point I swicthed on my laptop...and look at some pics form my" past life"..

It had been a long time since .....

As I looked into thoses pics from my so-called" modelling days"..

I had just read that a Girl from my church was number 1 in the US-CHARTS...so basically she was a successful christian using the gifts that she was born with....

that got me thinking...

WHY God ???
Why not me?? I was born with a couple of a natural abilities too...that YOU gave to me..just like you gave to some gifts for singing...for teaching..for science...etc...I am convinced that you had given me a tlalent for Dancing and for modelling....so WHY did you take it away from me....???

the weird thing is that I certainly dont miss it ....but I am just wondering why???

I was certainly borne a Dancer...whether trained or not...I believe that it s one of those things that you just have

as for modelling..I am not especially pretty but Gosh I am photogenic....I am just 10 times not me on paper and could have been among the top ...Of course as a christian I would have had to cover up more..hehehe...
Besides the fact that I am fact Black would have been a hindrance coz not much work for exoticism out there..but with God`s backing nothing is impossible..JESUS would have been the best agent...HEHE

ANYWAY !!!..I dont mind not to be out there...but I have just wondering why would God will give us talents and not let use them......hum......

but I guess they are lots of people out there who have talents but will never have the chance to use them ...so I am not the only one...

SPOTTED CONTRADICTION !!???

Increasing international pressure over the case of Christian convert Abdul Rahman is forcing the Afghan government to play a tight balancing act between its Western allies and religious conservatives at home.

Under the interpretation of Islamic Sharia law on which Afghanistan's constitution is based, Mr Rahman faces the death penalty unless he reconverts to Islam.

"The Prophet Muhammad has said several times that those who convert from Islam should be killed if they refuse to come back," says Ansarullah Mawlafizada, the trial judge.

"Islam is a religion of peace, tolerance, kindness and integrity. That is why we have told him if he regrets what he did, than we will forgive him," he told the BBC News website.

'Deserves it'

The judge's comments are one indication of why President Hamid Karzai, who already has a reputation of being pro-Western, faces some difficult choices.

The president has yet to comment publicly on the trial but statements put out by his office point out that while the government respects human rights and personal freedom, the country has an independent judicial system.

Who is America to tell us what to do? If Karzai listens to them there will jihad Mohammed Qadir Kabul resident

In practice, it is even more complicated.

The Afghan judiciary is dominated by religious conservatives, many of them with strong religious ties or backgrounds.

Many feel it will be difficult for the president and the government to confront the judiciary.
But the bigger problem confronting the president is that an overwhelming number of ordinary Afghans appear to believe Mr Rahman has erred and deserves to be executed.
At Friday prayers in mosques across the Afghan capital, the case of Abdul Rahman and the consequent international outcry is the hot topic of discussion and the centrepiece of sermons.
"We will not let anyone interfere with our religious practices," declared cleric Inayatullah at Kabul's Pulakasthy mosque, one of the city's largest.

"What Rahman has done is wrong and he must be punished."

Public mood

The issue has not reached the stage of street protests, as was the case recently during demonstrations against the publication in the West of cartoons satirising the Prophet Muhammad.

But there is little doubt that feelings run deep and can easily be inflamed.

"What is wrong with Islam that he should want to convert?" asks an agitated Abdul Zahid Payman.

"The courts should punish him and he should be put to death."
Few were willing to listen to the growing condemnation in the West.
"According to Islamic law he should be sentenced to death because God has clearly stated that Christianity is forbidden in our land," says Mohammed Qadir, another worshipper.
US President George Bush says he is "deeply troubled" by the case.
That cuts no ice with Mr Qadir.

"Who is America to tell us what to do? If Karzai listens to them there will jihad (holy war)."
Western backers of the Afghan government are pressing to create a country that is a moderate and progressive democracy, able to turn its back on its Taleban past.

But analysts say they often forget that Afghanistan is a deeply conservative country rooted in tribal traditions.

"This is a Muslim country. The state is Muslim, people are Muslim 99%," says Judge Ansarullah.
"This is a very sensitive issue."

Afghanistan's constitution, written in 2004, enshrines the country as an Islamic state under which no law can contravene Islam.

But it also protects personal freedom and respects international human rights conventions.

"It is a deliberately ambiguous document which tries to paper of the cracks and contradictions of Afghanistan," says one Afghan law professor privately.

"But now the contradictions have risen to the surface."

LESSONS OF LIFE!!

There was a man who had four sons. He wanted his sons
to learn not to judge things too quickly. So he sent
them each on a quest, in turn, to go and look at a
pear tree that was a great distance away.

The first son went in the winter, the second in the
spring, the third in summer, and the youngest son in
the fall.

When they had all gone and come back, he called them
together to describe what they had seen.

The first son said that the tree was ugly, bent, and
twisted.

The second son said no it was covered with green buds
and full of promise.

The third son disagreed; he said it was laden with
blossoms that smelled so sweet and looked so
beautiful, it was the most graceful thing he had ever
seen.

The last son disagreed with all of them; he said it
was ripe and drooping with fruit, full of life and
fulfillment.

The man then explained to his sons that they were all
right, because they had each seen but only one season
in the tree's life.
He told them that you cannot judge a tree, or a person, by only one
season, and that the essence of who they are and the pleasure, joy, and
love that come from that life can only be measured at
the end, when all the seasons are up.

If you give up when it's winter, you will miss the
promise of your spring, the beauty of your summer,
fulfillment of your fall.

Moral:

Don't let the pain of one season destroy the joy of
all the rest.

Don't judge life by one difficult season.

Persevere through the difficult patches and better
times are sure to come some time or later

CHIPS` WORKERS !!??

Video surveillance outfit chips workers
By Jan Libbenga

Published Friday 10th February 2006 11:57 GMT

A Cincinnati video surveillance company CityWatcher.com now requires employees to use Verichip (http://www.verichipcorp.com) human implantable microchips to enter a secure data centre. Until now, the employees entered the data centre with a VeriChip housed in a heart-shaped plastic casing that hangs from their keychain.
The VeriChip is a glass encapsulated RFID tag that is injected into the triceps area of the arm to uniquely identify individuals. The tag can be read by radio waves from a few inches away.

The news was reported by CASPIAN (http://www.nocards.org) (Consumers Against Supermarket Privacy Invasion and Numbering), a US organisation that opposes the use of surveillance RFID cards.

Although CityWatcher does not require its employees to take an implant to keep their jobs, they won't get in the data centre without it.
CASPIAN’s Katherine Albrecht says chipping sets an unsettling precedent. "It's wrong to link a person's paycheck with getting an implant,” she says.

CityWatcher argues that chipping employees is a move to increase the layer of security, as present systems can be compromised. However, CASPIAN warns that this can happen to implantable chips too.
Security researcher Jonathan Westhues - author of a chapter in a book titled Hacking the Prox Card - recently demonstrated how the VeriChip can be skimmed and cloned by a hacker. A cloned chip theoretically could duplicate an individual's VeriChip implant to access a secure area. ®

WALK THE TALK !!!!

1John 4:6
We are of God: he that knoweth God heareth us; he that is not
of God heareth not us. Hereby know we the spirit of truth, and the
spirit of error.

Jesus is the truth!
He came to teach the truth, even though it went against the lies that were being taught
in his day. But you must understand that lies will sell more than the truth will, because lies
support lies!
Let me make you understand this plainly. The reason why many of the popular preachersin this country are not preaching the full truth of God's word is because of the way they are living.

Homosexual Bishops must make excuses for their sinfulness in their messages because of the lifestyle they are practicing.
Famous preachers with broken homes must defend their wicked children or their broken marriages in their messages for justification purposes.
Money hungry evangelists must defend their plight to get your money and thus preach a half truth in order to justify themselves.
This is what you are hearing on the national preaching conference scene!
"God is about to give you this, and God is about to do that" but the truth of the matter is, if you are not living right, you will not be rewarded! If you are practicing sin, then you must con people to get money because God is not gonna reward wickedness!

Jesus came to live a sin free life to teach us a powerful truth!
WHEN YOU CONQUER SIN, YOU GAIN ETERNAL LIFE. Jesus could teach the truth
because he lived truth. And he set a wonderful example of how the
truth would make men free.
The real truth of God is not popular, but it's the answer. The real truth of the bible and the Word of God does not sell as well as the lie, but it will definitely please God if you live according to it. Live right and you will prosper.

The bible says that in the last days people with itching ears will flock to the big
time preachers because they will be preaching an edited message that will encourage you in your sinfulness and make you feel that your purpose outranks your behavior
!

They will make you feel that all of your mistakes are justifiable and you can live in stupidity while you prosper in God. They will make you feel that even though your home is
broken up, your children are wayward and your lifestyle is sinful, your breakthrough is on the way and God is using all of it for his good.

But those are lies! If you aren't doing the right thing, then you will not get right stuff! If you are not living purely, then you will only reap sinfulness! If you walk after the flesh, you will reap corruption and be condemned. Jesus taught us that he was the way and the truth!

If you are not doing it his way, then you are lying to yourself.
Don't believe the hype but believe the words of Christ.
I tell people all the time that the lie will not work. Try the lies and you will see
that they don't work! You will find yourself messed up, emotionally
wrecked and unstable, home broken and torn apart, children possessed by
sinful thoughts and actions, and no leading of God or fellowship with
his presence.
You will find yourself always talking to God but never
hearing from
.
Ever learning, but never coming to the knowledge of his
truth!

He is the truth, and you must obey him to receive from him.

A WORLD WITHOUT BLACK PEOPLE!!!!

This is a story of a little boy name Theo, who woke up one morning and asked his mother,

"Mom, what if there were no Black people in the world?" Well, his mother thought about that for a moment, and then said, "Son, follow me around today and let's just see what it would be like if there were no Black people in the world." Mom said, "Now go get dressed, and we will get started."

Theo ran to his room to put on his clothes and shoes. His mother took one look at him and said, "Theo, where are your shoes? And those clothes are all wrinkled, son. I must iron them." However, when she reached for the ironing board, it was no longer there.
You see Sarah Boone, a black woman, invented the ironing board, and Jan E. Matzelinger, a black man, invented the shoe lasting machine.

"Oh well," she said, "please go and do something to your hair." Theo ran in his room to comb his hair, but the comb was not there. You see, Walter Sammons, a black man, invented the comb.
Theo decided to just brush his hair, but the brush was gone. You see Lydia O. Newman, a black female, invented the brush.

Well, this was a sight: no shoes, wrinkled clothes, hair a mess. Even Mom's hair, without the hair care inventions of Madam C. Walker, well, you get the picture.

Mom told Theo, "Let's do our chores around the house and then take a trip to the grocery store."
Theo's job was to sweep the floor. He swept and swept and swept. When he reached for the dustpan, it was not there. You see, Lloyd P. Ray, a black man, invented the dustpan.
So he swept his pile of dirt over in the corner and left it there. He then decided to mop the floor, but the mop was gone. You see, Thomas W. Stewart, a black man, invented the mop. Theo yelled to his Mom, "Mom, I'm not having any luck."

"Well, son," she said, "Let me finish washing these clothes, and we will prepare a list for the grocery store." When the wash finished, she went to place the clothes in the dryer, but it was not there. You see, George T. Samon, a black man, invented the clothes dryer.

Mom asked Theo to go get a pencil and some paper to prepare their list for the market. So, Theo ran for the paper and pencil but noticed the pencil lead was broken. Well, he was out of luck because John Love, a black man, invented the pencil sharpener.
Mom reached for a pen, but it was not there because William Purvis, a black man, invented the fountain pen.

As a matter of fact, Lee Burridge invented the typewriting machine and W. A. Lovette the advanced printing press.

Theo and his mother decided just to head out to the market.
Well, when Theo opened the door, he noticed the grass was as high as he was tall. You see, John Burr, a black man, invented the lawn mower.

They made their way over to the car and found that it just wouldn't go. You see, Richard Spikes, a black man, invented the automatic gearshift, and Joseph Gammel invented the supercharge system for internal combustion engines. They also noticed that the few cars that were moving were running into each other and having wrecks because there were no traffic signals. You see, Garrett A. Morgan, a black man invented the traffic light.

Well, it was getting late, so they walked to the market, got their groceries, and returned home.
Just when they were about to put away the milk, eggs, and butter, they noticed the refrigerator was gone. You see John Standard, a black man, invented the refrigerator. So, they just left the food on the counter.

By this time, Theo noticed he was getting mighty cold. Mom went to turn up the heat, and what do you know? Alice Parker, a black female, invented the heating furnace. Even in the summertime, they would have been out of luck because Frederick Jones, a black man, invented the air conditioner.

It was almost time for Theo's father to arrive home. He usually takes the bus, but there was no bus, because its precursor was the electric trolley, invented by another black man, Elbert R. Robinson.

He usually takes the elevator from his office on the 20th floor, but there was no elevator because Alexander Miles, a black man, invented the elevator.
He also usually dropped off the office mail at a near by mailbox, but it was no longer there because Philip Downing, a black man, invented the letter drop mailbox, and William Barry invented the postmarking and canceling machine.

Theo and his mother sat at the kitchen table with their heads in their hands. When the father arrived, he asked, "Why are you sitting in the dark?" Why? Because Lewis Howard Latimer, a black man, invented the filament within the light bulb.

Theo quickly learned more about what it would be like if there were no black people in the world, especially if he were ever sick and needed blood. Dr. Charles Drew, a black scientist, found a way to preserve and store blood, which led to his starting the world's first blood bank.

Well, what if a family member had to have heart surgery? This would not have been possible without Dr. Daniel Hale Williams, a black doctor, who performed the first open-heart surgery.

Theo couldn't even e-mail his friends to share the news because Philip Emeagwali, an African mathematician, reinvented the supercomputer, the technology that gave rise to the Internet.

So, if you ever wonder, like Theo, where would we be without black people? Well, it's pretty plain to see.

We would still be in the DARK!

VERSION FRANCAISE...( WITH A TWIST)

BLACK PEOPLE and WOMEN ARE GENETICALLY INFERIOR?????

Students and staff protest against lecturer's race views

Matthew Taylor, education correspondentFriday March 17, 2006

GuardianThe campaign against a university lecturer who claims that black people and women are genetically inferior is spreading to campuses around the country following a demonstration in Leeds yesterday.

Frank Ellis, a lecturer in Russian and Slavonic studies, sparked anger after stating he was an "unrepentant Powellite" who thought the BNP was "a bit too socialist" for his liking.

In a row that has reignited the debate about academic freedom, Mr Ellis said he supported rightwing ideas such as the theory developed by Richard J Herrnstein and Charles Murray in their 1994 book, The Bell Curve, which claims that white people are more intelligent than black people. He also told the Leeds Student newspaper that women did not have the same intellectual capacity as men and that repatriation would get his support if it was done "humanely".

Yesterday more than 300 students and staff gathered in Leeds to call for him to be sacked and campaigners said the struggle was picking up momentum at other universities. Hind Hassan, treasurer of Unite Against Fascism at Leeds University, said: "This is a fight that is going to go on and on until we get rid of this man. It has gone beyond an issue of freedom of speech or academic freedom and now directly impinges on the rights of students to live and work in a safe and tolerant environment.
How can female students or those from ethnic minorities possibly get a fair educational experience?"

Students from several universities attended the rally. Shaheed Fazal, who travelled from Warwick University, said: "It is completely inappropriate for a lecturer in his position to push these views."

Pav Aktar, NUS anti-racism organiser, said the campaign was gathering national momentum. "For someone in a senior position to validate racist and fascist opinions on campus represents a real danger to all students, not just those at Leeds."

Leeds University secretary Roger Cair, one of its senior administrators, has resisted calls for Mr Ellis to be sacked, although he said the views expressed were abhorrent to most staff and students. Staff had the freedom within the law to question and test received wisdom and put forward controversial or unpopular opinions without placing themselves in jeopardy of losing their jobs, he said.

But he added: "We would expect such academic freedom to respect the university values and to be exercised within their context. We are deeply distressed that this expectation has not been met in opinions attributed to Dr Ellis."

Last night Mr Ellis told the Guardian he had been gagged by the university. Five years ago he hit the headlines when he spoke at the American Renaissance conference in the US, which attracts figures from organisations like the Ku Klux Klan.

OFFENSIVE Cartoon of Christ!!

Canadian Student Newspaper in Hot Water Over Controversial Cartoon of Christ

Caricature Not News, but a Poke at Christianity, Says Observer

CAUTION: This story contains terms some may find offensive

By Jim BrownMarch 16, 2006

(AgapePress) - Canadian Christians are calling on the University of Saskatchewan to shut down its student newspaper after it published a pornographic cartoon blaspheming Jesus.

One week after running an editorial explaining why it would not publish derogatory cartoons of Islam's prophet, Muhammad, The Sheaf published an editorial cartoon depicting Jesus fornicating with a pig. The Saskatoon Christian Centre has called on the president of the university to close The Sheaf until all of its editorial staff are fired.....READ MORE

AN IDEA FOR MY PASTOR !!

A minister in a small church had been having trouble with the
collections.

One Sunday he announced "Now, before we pass the collection plate, I
would like to request that the person who stole the chickens from Farmer
Condill's henhouse please refrain from giving any money to the Lord.

The Lord doesn't want money from a thief."

The collection plates were passed around, and for the first time in many
months everybody gave.

Sex, Please—We're Young and Chinese

A generation after Mao suits, China is coping with an epidemic of free love
BY HANNAH BEECH

Li Li has lost exact count of how many men she has bedded, but she knows the number is far above 100. "I don't keep statistics," says the former journalist, 27. But she isn't averse to kissing and telling. For the past couple of years, Li has kept a blog—written under the pen name Muzi Mei—that has chronicled everything from her penchant for orgies and Internet dating to her skepticism toward marriage when it means staying faithful to one man. This fall the Beijing resident posted a recording of her own lovemaking sounds that would make Paris Hilton blush. More than 50,000 people simultaneously tried to download the 25-minute podcast, crashing the host server. Despite government attempts to censor it, the sex diary is so popular that Li's pen name is intermittently the most searched keyword on China's top search engine. "I express my freedom through sex," says Li, unapologetically. "It's my life, and I can do what I want."

Freedom in the bedroom is a novel concept in China, where for decades communist minders dictated most aspects of people's private lives. Dressed in baggy Mao suits—hardly outfits to set the pulse racing—citizens of the People's Republic had to ask permission from local officials on everything from whom to marry to what kind of birth control to use. But these days many Chinese are walking on the wilder side. Sparked by the easing of government control over individual lifestyle choices and the spread of more permissive, Western attitudes toward sex, Chinese are copulating earlier, more often and with more partners than ever before. Today 70% of Beijing residents say they have had sexual relations before marriage, compared with just 15.5% in 1989, according to Li Yinhe, a sociologist at the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences. A survey taken last January of seven major Chinese cities found that among those 14 to 20, the average age of first sexual experience was 17.4, while those 31 to 40 had lost their virginity much later, at 24.1 years old. Says Fu Zhen, 28, a teacher in Shanghai: "My parents' only entertainment came from revolutionary movies, so they were very conservative about sex. My generation, we see everything from everywhere, and we are hungry for new experiences." As if to underline the point, Fu has adopted the nickname Carrie—as in Bradshaw, of Sex and the City.

All this hanky-panky is spawning new industries. Lingerie boutiques are proliferating in the big cities, and last November's Sex Culture Festival in the southern city of Guangzhou attracted more than 50,000 people eager to procure the very latest in adult toys—70% of which are now manufactured in China. One of the most popular? The "erotic butterfly," specially designed for women.

But China's sexual revolution has also brought unpleasant side effects. Although sex education is supposedly mandatory in Chinese middle schools, "many older teachers are too embarrassed, so they tear out the pages about sex from the textbooks," says Hu Peicheng, secretary-general of the China Sexology Association in Beijing. With little knowledge of birth control, an increasing number of unmarried women are getting pregnant in a culture in which single motherhood is still taboo. A survey by Shanghai medical researcher Yan Fengting found that 65% of urban women undergoing abortions in 2004 were single, compared with just 25% in 1999. Rates of sexually transmitted diseases are skyrocketing too, with HIV infections growing most quickly among Chinese 15 to 24 years old. Brothels barely disguised as beauty salons crowd the streets of China's big cities, while certain suburbs are known as "concubine villages" because of their high concentration of mistresses.

Those extra temptations—which the communists largely eradicated after taking power in 1949—have wreaked havoc on marriages, with 1.6 million Chinese couples divorcing in 2004, a 21% rise from the year before, according to the Ministry of Civil Affairs. "Before in society, we had a sense of right and wrong," says the China Sexology Association's Hu. "Now, we can do whatever we want. But do we have any moral standards left?"

Younger Chinese aren't too concerned. A poll by a Beijing magazine found that one-third of Chinese under the age of 26 had no problem with extramarital affairs. In a country where there's little political autonomy for young people, at least there's plenty of free love. "Maybe in the past, everyone was obedient and listened to the old grannies who lectured on who you could have sex with and in what position," says blogger Li. "But we don't have time to listen. We're too busy having sex."

IT S ALL FICTION !!

[TBC: Enemies of the Scriptures are often bold enough to make authoritative
statements for which they can offer not the slightest support. This example
from 1910 shows the logical question a believer should ask.]

Bro. Mohorter, of Boston, sends me the following clipping from a recent
issue of the Boston Herald:

The Reverend. George Hodges, dean of the Episcopal Theological School in
Cambridge, Mass
., preaching before University of Pennsylvania students in
Houston Hall on "The Temptation," said:

"Christ did not meet Satan in the wilderness, and there was no prodigal son. But the story of the temptation and the story of the prodigal contain the greatest truths which have everbeen told.
Fiction may be more full of truth than facts, and poetry andpictures, products of the imagination, may represent more and deeper truths than mathematical demonstrations. Records of the temptation make it sufficiently plain that what
we have here is a parable rather than a history, or a picture rather than a page from a diary. Taken literally, it never happened. Jesus and Satan never stood side by side looking down on
the temple.

The parable of the prodigal son has no fact in it from beginning to end. There was no prodigal son; there was no famine; no fatted calf; no elder brother. This was a beautiful story which
Jesus told, and he made up every word of it."
..........................................................

When a man makes an assertion the source of which is beyond the ordinary
range of human knowledge, it is always pertinent to ask him, How do you
know? When Professor Hodges said that Christ did not meet Satan, some of
those university students ought to have risen and said, "Professor, how do
you know? Have you any other source of information on the subject than the
three Gospels, which assert that he did?"
And when he said that the parable of the prodigal son has no fact in it from beginning to
end, he should have been confronted with the same question. Unless he is omniscient,
so as to know what took place two thousand years ago without the aid of evidence on
the subject, his answer would have been silence and confusion of face. But
our advanced critics are constantly assuming omniscience in regard to facts
of history which do not please them. According to the very first canon of
historical criticism, the testimony of men who were contemporaries of
asserted facts, and who had access to means of correct information, must be
accorded the highest degree of historical credibility.

But this scientific professor expected the students of Pennsylvania University to believe
him in this twentieth century concerning facts in the first, in opposition to
Matthew, Mark and Luke. Who will dare to say that he is conceited or
presumptuous?

IN THE MORNING..

Je7.13
And now, because you have done all these works,” says the LORD, “and I spoke to you, rising up early and speaking, but you did not hear, and I called you, but you did not answer….,

The phrase rising up early becomes a frequent expression in Jeremiah. The practice is in harmony with the consistent biblical teaching.

Jesus Himself rose up before daybreak to pray
:

MAR1.35 Now in the morning, having risen a long while before daylight, He went out and departed to a solitary place; and there He prayed

The Psalms remind believers that the morning hour spent with God is
crucial for spiritual growth

PS 5.3 My voice You shall hear in the morning, O LORD;In the morning I will direct it to You, And I will look up

PS 119.147 I rise before the dawning of the morning,And cry for help; I hope in Your word

P88.13 But to You I have cried out, O LORD, And in the morning my prayer comes before You

Each morning God's child has a fresh opportunity to recall His mercy and protection

P59.16 But I will sing of Your power; Yes, I will sing aloud of Your mercy in the morning; For You have been my defense And refuge in the day of my trouble.

To find direction and guidance for the tasks of the day

Ps 143.8 Cause me to hear Your lovingkindness in the morning, For in You do I trust; Cause me to know the way in which I should walk,For I lift up my soul to You.

And if you are having a hard time to get yourselves to Get up early it.hold on to the following scripture:

He awakens me morning by morning, He awakens me to hear as the learned. The Lord has opened my ear; And I was not rebellious, Nor did I turn away." Isaiah 50:4-5

HUNGRY FOR MORE OF GOD.

Psa 63.1 O God, You are my God;Early will I seek You; My soul thirsts for You; My flesh longs for You In a dry and thirsty land Where there is no water
2 So I have looked for You in the sanctuary,
To see Your power and Your glory.

IF you want to become wise,HERE is a tip:

ISA 50.4
The Lord GOD has given Me The tongue of the learned, That I should know how to speak A word in season to him who is weary. He awakens Me morning by morning, He awakens My ear To hear as the learned.

JUST A REMINDER !!

The next time the devil reminds you of your Past,
Remind him of His Future.

Health Questions and Answers - The Facts cleared up!

Q: I've heard that cardiovascular exercise can prolong life; is this true?

A: Your heart is only good for so many beats, and that's it ...
don't waste them on exercise. Everything wears out eventually.
Speeding up your heart will not make you live longer; that's like saying you can extend the life of your car by driving it faster. Want to live longer? Take a nap.

Q: Should I cut down on meat and eat more fruits and vegetables?

A: You must grasp logistical efficiencies. What does a cow eat?
Hay and corn. And what are these? Vegetables. So a steak is nothing more than an efficient mechanism of delivering vegetables to your system. Need grain? Eat chicken. Beef is also a good source of field grass (green leafy vegetable). And a pork chop can give you 100% of your recommended daily allowance of vegetable products.

Q: Should I reduce my alcohol intake?

A: No, not at all. Wine is made from fruit. Brandy is distilled wine, that means they take the water out of the fruity bit so you get even more of the goodness that way. Beer is also made out of grain. Bottoms up!

Q: How can I calculate my body/fat ratio?

A: Well, if you have a body and you have fat, your ratio is one to one. If you have two bodies, your ratio is two to one, etc.

Q: What are some of the advantages of participating in a regular
exercise program?

A: Can't think of a single one, sorry. My philosophy is: No Pain
... Good!

Q: Aren't fried foods bad for you?

A: YOU'RE NOT LISTENING!!! Foods are fried these days in
vegetable oil. In fact, they're permeated in it. How could getting
more vegetables be bad for you?

Q: Will sit-ups help prevent me from getting a little soft
around the middle?

A: Definitely not! When you exercise a muscle, it gets bigger.
You should only be doing sit-ups if you want a bigger stomach.

Q: Is chocolate bad for me?

A: Are you crazy? HELLO ... Cocoa beans! Another vegetable!!
It's the best feel-good food around!

Q: Is swimming good for your figure?

A: If swimming is good for your figure, explain whales to me.

Q: Is getting in-shape important for my lifestyle?

A: Hey! 'Round' is a shape!

Well, I hope this has cleared up any misconceptions you may have had about food and diets. And remember: "Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways - Chardonnay in one hand - chocolate in the other - body thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and screaming .....

ON ALL FOUR!!!

Family may provide evolution clue

Five siblings from Turkey who can only walk on all fours could provide science with an insight into human evolution, researchers have said.

The three sisters and two brothers could yield clues to why our ancestors made the transition from four-legged to two-legged animals, says a UK expert.

But Professor Nicholas Humphrey rejects the idea that there is a "gene" for bipedalism, or upright walking.

A BBC documentary about the family will be shown on Friday 17 March.
Professor Humphrey, from the London School of Economics (LSE), says that our own species' transition to walking on two feet must have been a more complex process that involved many changes to the skeleton and to the human genetic make-up.

However, a German group says a genetic abnormality does seem to be involved in the siblings' gait.

Coordination problem

Two of the sisters and one brother have only ever walked on two hands and two feet, but another sister and brother can occasionally walk on two feet for a short time.

In this position, both their knees and their head are flexed.
The five siblings live with their parents and 13 other brothers and sisters and were born with what looks like a form of brain damage.

MRI scans seem to show that they have a form of cerebellar ataxia, which affects balance and coordination.
However, scientists are divided on what caused them to revert to quadrupedalism (walking on all fours).

The method of locomotion used by the Turkish children and by our closest relatives chimpanzees and gorillas, differs in a crucial way, said Professor Humphrey.

While gorillas and chimpanzees walk on their knuckles, the Turkish siblings put their weight on the wrists, lifting their fingers off the ground.

Tool use

"What's significant about that is that chimpanzees ruin their fingers walking like that," Professor Humphrey, an evolutionary psychologist, told the BBC News website.
"These kids have kept their fingers very agile, for example, the girls in the family can do crochet and embroidery."

He added that calluses pictured on the hands of one family member demonstrated that the behaviour was not a hoax.
Professor Humphrey said this could be the way that humankind's direct ancestors walked.
Hands which have kept the fingers dextrous would also have been able to manipulate tools, a key development which influenced the evolution of the human body and intelligence.

"I think it's possible that what we are seeing in this family is something that does correspond to a time when we didn't walk like chimpanzees but was an important step between coming down from the trees and becoming fully bipedal," the LSE researcher said.

'Infant walking'

Professor Humphrey thinks that the brain abnormality simply caused the siblings to rediscover a form of locomotion used by our ancestors.
"Because of the peculiar circumstances they were in, they kept walking as infants," he said.
But a team led by Stefan Mundlos of the Max Planck Institute in Leipzig, Germany, thinks that the genetic abnormality which causes the children's unusual gait may have played a more fundamental role in evolution.

Professor Mundlos has located the gene on chromosome 17 and speculates that a gene important in the transition to bipedalism may have been knocked out in the children.
Series producer Jemima Harrison said the programme's producers were moved by the family's "tremendous warmth and humanity".

BBC Two's The Family That Walks On All Fours is broadcast on Friday 17 March at 2100 GMT

I AM BACK....

hum!!
dunno what to say really!!
